There were smiles all round after our Essendon 1st XI emerged victorious against Dandenong 1st XI at Essendon Cricket Ground.
Batting first, Dandenong 1st XI posted 6/131 from 20 overs. The best of our opponents' batters was Brett Forsyth with 31. Muhammad Abdulrafay grabbed three for 22. There were also wickets for Nicholas McGuane (two for 26).
In reply, the team reached the target at 5/132 in 18.5 overs. Harry Duke brought up a stylish half-century, finishing with 66 not out off 52 balls.
It was an excellent all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. Great work, everyone.
