The Essendon 1st XI had to give best to Northcote 1st XI on a tough day.
Northcote 1st XI made 8/357, and we made 252. Harry Duke posted a stylish hundred, making 106 off 168 balls. Connor Poulton contributed 42 off 96 balls. Joe Medew-Ewen did the damage for our opponents with four for 60.
Noman Safdar picked up three for 59 off 21 overs. Nicholas McGuane also took two for 49. Aaron Crispe posted a superb hundred for the hosts, finishing on 110.
Not our day, but there's plenty to work with. It's six defeats on the trot, and the side will be eager to bounce back.
Credit to our opponents, and well played.
