It was a good day out for our Essendon 2nd XI, who came out on top against Frankston Peninsula 2nd XI in Kookaburra Men's Premier.
Over the course of the match we totalled 10/171 and 4/54, and Frankston Peninsula 2nd XI 10/138. Fifty for Hayden Cross, who finished with 51 not out off 94 balls. There were also handy runs from Arin Mishra (38). For our opponents, Oliver McGinley took three for 46 off fourteen overs.
Jarrod Parsons tore through the batting order, taking five for 17. Mishra added three for 7. Credit to Cooper Wood, who made a half-century (52) for the visitors.
It was a brilliant all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. Well done to everyone involved.
