It was a day to regroup for our Essendon 2nd XI, who fell short against Kingston Hawthorn 2nd XI in a tough outing.
Our innings closed at 7/262 from 50 overs. A classy 70 off 87 balls from Ikroop Dhanoa was the highlight. Aidan Salvado's 67 off 99 balls was a half-century to remember. Jamie Moraitis claimed three for 52 for Kingston Hawthorn 2nd XI.
Our opponents knocked off the runs, finishing on 7/266 in 49.3 overs. The hosts' best was a half-century from Vithum Sathyajith, who made 50. Our opponents also got 46 from Luke Ajani. Dhanoa starred with the ball, taking two for 47.
