In Kookaburra Men's Premier, our Essendon 3rd XI went down to Fitzroy Doncaster 3rd XI away from home.
We posted 7/183, while Fitzroy Doncaster 3rd XI made 9/361. A classy 53 not out off 118 balls from Heath doherty was the highlight. Vanshjot Sandhu contributed 35 off 41 balls.
Henry Robertson led the way with the ball, finishing with four for 74. James Heaney posted 89 for our opponents, a fine fifty. Lishan De Silva made a quality 88 for the hosts, a well-deserved half-century.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
We'll go again.
