It was a tough day out for our Essendon 3rd XI, who were beaten by Fitzroy Doncaster 3rd XI on Saturday at Schramms Reserve - Oval #2.
Over the course of the match we totalled 10/172, and Fitzroy Doncaster 3rd XI 10/231 and 0/71. Zachary Beniwal played a fine hand of 45 off 109 balls. Jessraj Badhaan made 44 off 75 balls. Addison Forbes was the main threat for the hosts, taking four for 37.
Five wickets for Jacob Pawlowicz, who returned five for 45 off twenty overs. Muhammad Abdul Wasay added two for 16. James Heaney made a classy 93 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. Blake Podesta passed fifty for the hosts, finishing with 71.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again. A tough stretch, and one the side will be determined to end. Back to the nets, and on to the next one.
