There was plenty to celebrate as our Essendon 3rd XI recorded a win over Greenvale Kangaroos 3rd XI in a good team performance.
Greenvale Kangaroos 3rd XI's innings ended at 8/214, ours at 8/265. Heath doherty made a superb 81 off 110 balls, a well-made fifty. Vanshjot Sandhu added a useful 43 off 64 balls.
Paramvir Singh led the way with the ball, finishing with two for 34. Credit to Arjun Sharma, who made a half-century (64) for our opponents. Ashley Fernando made a classy 64 for the hosts, a well-deserved half-century.
It was a brilliant all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. That's the first win of the season for the side. Congratulations to all involved.
