It wasn't to be for our Essendon 1st XI, who came off second best against Carlton 1st XI at home.
Carlton 1st XI's innings closed at 9/285 from 50 overs. The visitors' best was a half-century from Jagadeswara Koduru, who made 60. Nicholas McGuane led the way with the ball, finishing with four for 40.
In reply, the boys were all out for 169 in 36.1 overs. Leading the way was Ikroop Dhanoa with 45 off 53 balls. Arshit Rajput chipped in with 35. Credit to Cameron Stevenson, who took four for 55 for our opponents. Michael Archer added three for 38 for the visitors.
There were some polished individual efforts to build on. That's three losses in a row, but the side will keep working hard.
Well played to our opponents.
