There was plenty to celebrate as our Essendon 2nd XI saw off Melbourne 2nd XI by five wickets at Beaumaris Secondary College - North Oval.
Our bowlers restricted Melbourne 2nd XI to 5/236 from 50 overs. Oliver Gunning made a quality 123 not out for our opponents, a century worth applauding. Noman Safdar grabbed three for 36.
In reply, the side reached the target at 5/237 in 42.5 overs. Fifty for Nicholas Markovski, who finished with 62 off 64 balls. Arshit Rajput posted a half-century, making 53 not out off 43 balls with five fours and one six. Simrth Singh Gill provided good support with 37.
An excellent result for the team.
A terrific effort from the side.
