Despite a solid effort, our Essendon 1st XI were downed by Frankston Peninsula 1st XI on a day to learn from.
Frankston Peninsula 1st XI's innings ended at 8/323, ours at 157. Jackson Martin made a valuable 29 off 54 balls. Liam Cox returned three for 34 for our opponents.
Nicholas McGuane was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 28 off eighteen overs. Muhammad Abdulrafay offered good support with two for 52. Credit to Xavier Crone, who made a half-century (80) for the hosts.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one. Back to the nets, and on to the next one.
